So, what is boletus aestivalis?
Boletus aestivalis, also known as the summer cep, is a type of edible mushroom that grows predominantly in Europe during the warmer months. This gourmet mushroom is prized for its rich flavor, firm texture, and earthy aroma, making it a popular ingredient in many dishes. With a cap that can reach up to 25 centimeters in diameter, the boletus aestivalis is easily recognizable by its reddish-brown cap and yellowish stem. It is commonly found in forests, particularly around oak and beech trees, and can be enjoyed in a variety of dishes, including risottos, pastas, and soups.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
