So, what is carotenoids?
Carotenoids are a group of naturally occurring pigments found in many fruits and vegetables, including carrots, tomatoes, and sweet potatoes. These compounds are responsible for the vibrant orange, red, and yellow colors in these foods. Carotenoids are also known for their powerful antioxidant properties, which may help protect against certain chronic diseases such as cancer and cardiovascular disease. Additionally, some carotenoids can be converted into vitamin A in the body, which is essential for healthy vision and immune function. Eating a diet rich in carotenoids may also improve skin health and promote a healthy complexion.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
