So, what is eñzymes?
Enzymes are biological molecules that catalyze chemical reactions within living organisms. In the food industry, enzymes are used to break down complex molecules into simpler ones, thus enhancing the flavor, texture, and nutritional value of food. They are commonly used in processes such as baking, brewing, cheese making, and meat tenderization. Enzymes can be derived from various sources, including plant and animal tissues, as well as microorganisms. They are often added to food products as an alternative to chemical additives, as they are natural and generally considered safe for consumption.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
