So, what is fermentos?
Fermentos, also known as fermenting agents, are natural substances used to facilitate the fermentation process in food production. They are essential ingredients in many traditional foods, such as sourdough bread, cheese, beer, and sauerkraut. Fermentos can be derived from various sources, including bacteria, yeasts, and molds, and they work by breaking down complex carbohydrates, proteins, and fats in food to create a range of beneficial compounds, such as lactic acid, acetic acid, and alcohol. This process not only adds unique flavors and textures to food but also increases its nutritional value and shelf life.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
