So, what is kapris?
Capers, also known as kapris, are a small, green, and tangy ingredient that adds a distinctive flavor to various dishes. These unopened flower buds of the caper bush are hand-picked, then dried or preserved in vinegar or salt. With an intense, piquant taste, their unique flavor profile can be described as salty, slightly bitter, and acidic. They're a popular addition to Mediterranean cuisine, where they're used in sauces, salads, pasta dishes, and as a garnish for fish and meat. Apart from their culinary uses, capers are also rich in antioxidants and may offer some health benefits when consumed in moderation.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
