So, what is krējums?
Krējums is a popular dairy product in Latvia, known for its rich and creamy texture. It is similar to sour cream or crème fraîche but has a slightly sweeter taste. Made from fresh milk that has been pasteurized and left to ferment, krējums is versatile and can be used in various dishes, from savory sauces to sweet desserts. It's a common ingredient in Latvian cuisine, often paired with potatoes or added to traditional pastries like pīrāgi. Krējums also has a high-fat content, making it perfect for enriching soups and stews.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
