So, what is phosphatides?
Phosphatides are a class of naturally occurring compounds that are widely found in plant and animal tissues. These compounds consist of fatty acids, glycerol, and a phosphate group. They play a crucial role in the structure and function of cell membranes, aiding in the transport of lipids and other molecules across the membrane. Phosphatides are also used as emulsifiers in food and pharmaceutical industries due to their ability to mix oil and water-based ingredients. They are commonly found in sources such as soybeans, sunflower seeds, and eggs, and are considered safe for consumption in appropriate amounts.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
