So, what is plant carotenes?
Plant carotenes are natural pigments found in a variety of fruits and vegetables, including carrots, sweet potatoes, and leafy greens. These compounds, also known as provitamin A carotenoids, are converted into vitamin A by the body and are important for maintaining healthy vision, skin, and immune function. Plant carotenes also act as powerful antioxidants, protecting cells from damage caused by harmful molecules called free radicals. Incorporating a diverse range of plant carotene-rich foods into your diet can help promote overall health and well-being.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
