So, what is ‘ cacao?
Cacao, also known as Theobroma cacao, is a tropical plant that is primarily cultivated for its seeds, which are used to produce cocoa powder and chocolate. The seeds are harvested from pods, which grow on the trunk and branches of the cacao tree. Cacao is considered a superfood due to its high levels of antioxidants and nutrients, such as magnesium, iron, and fiber. It also contains compounds that have been shown to improve mood and brain function. Cacao is used in a variety of culinary applications, including baked goods, smoothies, and hot cocoa.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
