So, what is acai?
Acai (pronounced ah-sigh-EE) is a small, purple berry harvested from the acai palm tree, native to the Amazon rainforest in Brazil. This superfood is renowned for its high levels of antioxidants, fiber, and healthy fats. Acai is typically consumed as a frozen pulp or in smoothie bowls, and has a rich, slightly tart flavor that pairs well with other fruits and nuts. Its deep purple color comes from anthocyanins, a type of antioxidant that may have anti-inflammatory properties. Acai has been touted for its potential health benefits, including improved heart health, brain function, and digestion.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
