So, what is acesulfaam-k?

Acesulfame-K, also known as acesulfame potassium, is a calorie-free artificial sweetener commonly used in food and beverage products as a sugar substitute. This white crystalline powder is 200 times sweeter than sugar, yet has no bitter aftertaste. It is heat-stable, making it a popular choice for baked goods and other high-temperature applications. Acesulfame-K is often blended with other sweeteners such as aspartame and sucralose to create a synergistic effect and enhance sweetness. Although it is considered safe for consumption, some studies have raised concerns about its potential effects on the body.
