So, what is acide fumarique?
Acide fumarique, also known as fumaric acid, is a naturally occurring organic acid widely used in the food industry as a food additive. It has a slightly sour taste and is commonly found in fruits such as apples, grapes, and berries. As an additive, it is used as a flavor enhancer, acidity regulator, and preservative in various food products including baked goods, beverages, candies, and processed meats. Acide fumarique is also used in the pharmaceutical and cosmetics industries as a buffering agent and skin conditioning agent respectively. It is considered safe for human consumption and has no known adverse effects when consumed in moderation.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
