So, what is ácido'láctico?

Ácido láctico is a natural organic acid produced by lactic acid bacteria during fermentation. It has a sour taste and is often used as a preservative or flavoring agent in food products such as yogurt, cheese, sauerkraut, pickles, and some meats. In addition to its culinary uses, ácido láctico also has industrial applications as a cleaning agent, in the production of biodegradable plastics, and in the pharmaceutical industry. This versatile ingredient can contribute to the tangy, slightly sweet flavor profile of many foods while also providing health benefits including improved gut health and immune system function.

We use it in our vegan ingredients scanner, which is the best way to avoid non-vegan ingredients - you take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
