So, what is altramuz?

Altramuz, also known as lupin or lupine, is a legume that is native to the Mediterranean region but now widely grown in other parts of the world. The seeds of the altramuz plant are often used as a nutritious food ingredient, packed with protein, fiber, and essential amino acids. Altramuz can be consumed in various forms, including as a snack, flour, or added to salads and soups. Additionally, altramuz is an excellent source of antioxidants and has been linked to various health benefits, such as improving blood sugar control, reducing cholesterol levels, and aiding in weight management. Its slightly bitter taste makes it a unique addition to any dish.

How to quickly find the source of ingredients like altramuz?

We've built a database of 49359 ingredients (and growing), classified as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "maybe vegan".

We use it in our vegan ingredients scanner, which is the best way to avoid non-vegan ingredients - you take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
