So, what is ammoniumbicarbonat?
Ammonium bicarbonate, also known as hartshorn or baker’s ammonia, is a white crystalline powder with a faint ammonia odor. It is commonly used in baking as a leavening agent and can be substituted for baking powder or soda in recipes that require an extra lift. Unlike other chemical leavening agents, ammonium bicarbonate creates a crisp texture in baked goods and is ideal for creating light, airy cookies and crackers. While it has been used for centuries, ammonium bicarbonate is still widely used in commercial and home baking today.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
