So, what is ammoniumhydrogencarbonat?
Ammonium hydrogen carbonate, also known as baker's ammonia, is a white crystalline powder commonly used in baking as a leavening agent. Unlike baking powder or baking soda, it produces a light and airy texture without adding a salty or bitter taste to baked goods. It is particularly popular in traditional European baked goods like cookies, crackers, and biscuits. However, it can be difficult to find in modern grocery stores due to its pungent odor and potential health hazards if inhaled in large amounts.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
