So, what is azafran?
Azafran, also known as saffron, is a highly prized spice derived from the Crocus sativus flower. The vibrant red threads are carefully harvested by hand and dried to create a distinctive flavor and aroma that is beloved in many cuisines worldwide. Azafran is often used in Spanish, Indian, and Middle Eastern dishes, adding a rich, earthy flavor to rice dishes, soups, stews, and sauces. Due to its labor-intensive harvesting process and high demand, azafran is one of the most expensive spices in the world, making it a luxurious addition to any meal.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
