So, what is azücar de cana?
Azúcar de caña, also known as cane sugar, is a natural sweetener derived from the sugarcane plant. The juice extracted from the stalks is boiled and evaporated to produce this granulated sugar. Unlike refined white sugar, cane sugar retains some of its natural molasses content, giving it a subtle caramel flavor and light brown color. It's commonly used in Latin American, Caribbean, and Asian cuisine, adding a delicious sweetness to desserts, baked goods, and beverages. Cane sugar is also popular among health-conscious consumers because it's less processed and contains more nutrients than refined sugar.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
