So, what is bataw?
Bataw, also known as hyacinth bean or lablab, is a legume that grows in tropical and subtropical regions. It has a crisp texture and a mild, slightly sweet flavor that makes it a versatile ingredient in various cuisines. Bataw is high in protein, fiber, and essential vitamins and minerals, making it a nutritious addition to any meal. In Filipino cuisine, bataw is commonly used in stews and stir-fries, while in Indian cuisine, it is often made into dal or curry. Bataw can also be roasted, boiled, or sautéed as a tasty and healthy snack.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
