So, what is bazsalikom?
Bazsalikom, also known as basil in English, is a fragrant herb that's commonly used in Italian, Thai, and Mediterranean cuisines. It has a pungent, sweet aroma with a slight peppery flavor that adds depth to any dish. Bazsalikom is rich in antioxidants and essential oils, making it a great ingredient for boosting the immune system and aiding in digestion. It's versatile in cooking, whether it's sprinkled on top of pizza or incorporated into pesto sauce. Bazsalikom is easy to grow in a sunny spot, and its fresh leaves can be harvested all summer long.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
