So, what is bitterorange?
Bitter orange, scientifically known as Citrus aurantium, is a citrus fruit that has a bitter and pungent taste. This ingredient is commonly used in traditional medicine to aid digestion, reduce inflammation, and improve heart health. Bitter orange contains synephrine, a compound that may increase metabolism and promote weight loss by suppressing appetite. This ingredient can be found in various forms, including essential oils, extracts, and dried peels, and is often used in cooking and baking to add a tangy flavor to dishes such as marmalades, sauces, and marinades.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
