So, what is blue2?
Blue2 is a synthetic food coloring agent that is commonly used to add a bright blue hue to a wide range of food products. It is made from a chemical compound known as indigo carmine, which is derived from coal tar. Blue2 is a water-soluble dye that is easy to mix into foods and beverages, and it is often used in candies, baked goods, and soft drinks. While blue2 is generally recognized as safe by the FDA, some studies have suggested that it may have negative effects on behavior and cognitive function in children, so its use in food products is somewhat controversial.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
