So, what is botervet?
Botervet is a traditional Dutch food ingredient that translates to "butter fat." It's made by heating unsalted butter until the milk solids separate from the liquid fat. The milk solids are then removed, leaving behind pure butter fat that has a rich, velvety texture and a nutty, caramel-like flavor. Botervet is commonly used in Dutch cuisine for frying and baking, as it has a high smoke point and adds a depth of flavor to dishes. It can also be spread on bread or used as a condiment for vegetables. Due to its high fat content, botervet should be consumed in moderation.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
