So, what is calcium sulfaté?
Calcium sulfate, also known as gypsum, is a naturally occurring mineral that is commonly used as a food additive. It is a white, odorless, and tasteless powder that is added to a variety of foods to improve their texture and stability. Calcium sulfate is also used in the production of tofu, where it acts as a coagulant to solidify the soy milk. In addition, calcium sulfate is a good source of dietary calcium, which is essential for healthy bones and teeth. As a food ingredient, calcium sulfate is generally considered safe and is approved by regulatory agencies such as the FDA.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
