So, what is caper?
Capers are small, round, tangy buds that are typically harvested from a shrub called Capparis spinosa, native to the Mediterranean and some parts of Asia. These little buds are usually pickled in vinegar or salt to enhance their flavor and preservation. Capers are often used as a seasoning in various dishes, particularly in Mediterranean and Italian cuisine, such as pasta sauces, salad dressings, and fish dishes. With their piquant flavor and unique texture, capers can add a burst of brightness and complexity to your favorite recipes.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
