So, what is capperi?
Capperi, also known as capers, are a small, unripe flower bud commonly used in Mediterranean cuisine. With a distinct tangy and salty flavor, capperi are often added to salads, sauces, and fish dishes to provide a burst of flavor. They are harvested by hand and then pickled in vinegar or salt water to preserve their unique flavor. Despite their small size, capperi pack a punch when it comes to nutrition, containing vitamins C and K, iron, and antioxidants. Whether used as a garnish or a primary ingredient, capperi are a versatile and flavorful addition to any dish.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
