So, what is cava?
Cava is a sparkling wine that hails from Catalonia, Spain. Made using the traditional method of Champagne, cava undergoes a secondary fermentation in the bottle to produce its signature bubbles. The wine is crafted from a blend of grape varieties, including Macabeo, Xarel-lo, and Parellada, with some producers also adding Chardonnay or Pinot Noir. Cava can range in style from crisp and dry to richer and more complex, depending on the winemaker's preference. Its versatility makes it a popular choice for toasting special occasions, pairing with a variety of foods, or simply enjoying on its own.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
