So, what is cottonseed?
Cottonseed is a versatile and nutritious food ingredient that is derived from the seeds of the cotton plant. With a slightly nutty and buttery flavor, cottonseed is often used as a cooking oil or in the production of margarine and salad dressings. Rich in protein, fiber, and essential fatty acids, cottonseed is also a popular ingredient in animal feed and can be used as a substitute for soybean meal. In addition, cottonseed oil has a high smoke point, making it ideal for frying and high-heat cooking.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
