So, what is curmale?
Curmale, also known as date paste, is a sweet and sticky ingredient commonly used in Middle Eastern and North African cuisine. Made from freshly harvested dates that are pitted, soaked, and mashed into a smooth paste, curmale adds natural sweetness and depth of flavor to a variety of dishes. It can be used as a natural sweetener in baked goods, smoothies, and desserts, or as a base for savory sauces and marinades. With its rich caramel notes and nutritionally beneficial properties, such as fiber and potassium, curmale has become a popular alternative to refined sugar in many culinary circles.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
