So, what is de laurier?
De laurier, also known as bay leaf, is a fragrant herb commonly used in Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisine. It comes from the dried leaves of the bay laurel tree and has a slightly bitter and pungent flavor. Often added to soups, stews, and sauces, de laurier provides a subtle depth of flavor that enhances the overall taste of the dish. Its essential oils are also believed to have anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, making it a popular ingredient in traditional medicine. When using de laurier, it's important to remove the leaves before serving, as they are tough and can be a choking hazard.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
