So, what is dekstroze?
Dextrose, also known as glucose or corn sugar, is a simple sugar derived from corn starch. It is commonly used as a sweetener, often in combination with other sugars or artificial sweeteners, due to its low cost and fast-acting properties. Dextrose is also used as a source of quick energy in sports drinks and as a food additive to enhance flavors, textures, and shelf life. In baking, dextrose can improve dough elasticity and browning, and in confectionery, it can prevent crystallization and improve mouthfeel. Dextrose is a versatile ingredient that can be found in a wide range of food and beverage products, from candy and soda to bread and processed meats.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
