So, what is dekstryna?

Dextrin is a carbohydrate that is produced by heating starch in the presence of acid or enzymes. It is a white powder that is often used as a thickener, binder, or filler in food products such as baked goods, sauces, and snacks. It is commonly found in processed foods due to its low cost and ability to improve texture and shelf life. Dextrin is also used in some sports supplements to provide a quick source of energy before workouts. However, consuming too much dextrin may lead to digestive discomfort, so it should be used in moderation.

How to quickly find the source of ingredients like dekstryna?

We've built a database of 49359 ingredients (and growing), classified as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "maybe vegan".

We use it in our vegan ingredients scanner, which is the best way to avoid non-vegan ingredients - you take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
