So, what is diphenyl?
Diphenyl, also known as biphenyl, is a colorless, crystalline organic compound commonly used as a heat transfer agent and in the production of plastics, resins, and electrical equipment. It has a distinct aromatic odor and is insoluble in water but soluble in organic solvents. Diphenyl has been shown to have potential health effects, including endocrine disruption and carcinogenicity, and should be handled with care. Despite its negative impacts, diphenyl remains an important ingredient in various industries due to its unique properties and versatility.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
