So, what is eau-de-vie?
Eau-de-vie is a clear, colorless brandy made from fermented fruit juice. The name means "water of life" in French, and it is considered to be one of the purest forms of alcohol. Eau-de-vie can be made from a variety of fruits, including grapes, plums, apples, and pears, and the flavor and aroma of the finished product will depend on the type of fruit used. It is typically aged for a short period of time, if at all, in order to preserve the delicate fruit flavors. Eau-de-vie is often sipped neat, as a digestif, or used as a base for cocktails.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
