So, what is en coque?
En coque is a French culinary term that refers to an ingredient that has been cooked in its own shell. Typically used for eggs, en coque preparation involves carefully cracking the top off an egg and then cooking it gently within its shell until the white and yolk are perfectly set. This method of cooking produces a delicate and creamy texture that is ideal for dishes such as eggs benedict or simply served on its own with a sprinkle of sea salt and cracked pepper. En coque is a technique that requires a skilled hand, but the results are well worth the effort.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
