So, what is evening primrose?

Evening primrose is a flowering plant native to North America that produces a seed rich in essential fatty acids. The oil extracted from evening primrose seeds contains high levels of gamma-linolenic acid (GLA), an omega-6 fatty acid that has been associated with several health benefits. Evening primrose oil is often used as a dietary supplement to support skin health, hormone balance, and relieve symptoms of PMS and menopause. It is also used in cosmetic products for its moisturizing and anti-inflammatory properties. Evening primrose has a delicate, slightly sweet taste and can be used as a nutritional supplement or added to salads, smoothies, and other recipes.

How to quickly find the source of ingredients like evening primrose?

We've built a database of 49359 ingredients (and growing), classified as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "maybe vegan".

We use it in our vegan ingredients scanner, which is the best way to avoid non-vegan ingredients - you take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
