So, what is fecule?
Fecule, also known as potato starch, is a versatile and gluten-free ingredient derived from potatoes. This fine white powder is a popular thickener and binder in a variety of dishes, including sauces, soups, and desserts. Fecule has a neutral flavor, making it an excellent addition to recipes without altering their taste. It is also a healthier alternative to cornstarch as it is low in fat and calories. Fecule can be easily incorporated into recipes by mixing it with a small amount of cold water before adding it to the hot liquid to prevent clumping.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
