So, what is fermentiert?
Fermentiert is a German term for fermented, which is a process where bacteria or yeast convert sugars or starches into alcohol, acid, or gas. Fermenting food has been practiced for centuries and can add complex flavors, aromas, and textures to ingredients. The process of fermentation can also increase the nutritional value of food by producing vitamins and enzymes. Some commonly fermented foods include sauerkraut, yogurt, kimchi, and sourdough bread. Fermentiert ingredients are a great way to add depth and complexity to your dishes, while also providing potential health benefits.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
