So, what is florida velvet bean?
Florida velvet bean, also known as Mucuna pruriens, is a tropical legume that grows in the southeastern United States. The plant produces long, fuzzy pods that contain small, round seeds. These seeds are often used as a natural remedy for various health conditions due to their high concentration of L-dopa, a compound that helps increase dopamine levels in the brain. In addition, Florida velvet beans are also used in traditional medicine to treat anxiety, stress, and depression. They can be consumed as a powder or extract, added to smoothies or other recipes, or taken in capsule form.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
