So, what is glyserol?
Glycerol, also known as glycerin or glycerine, is a colorless, odorless, and slightly sweet-tasting liquid that belongs to the family of polyols. It is derived from animal or vegetable fats and oils through a process called hydrolysis. Glycerol has a wide range of applications in the food industry, including its use as a humectant, sweetener, and thickener. It can also be used as a solvent for food flavorings and as a preservative. Glycerol is an essential ingredient in the production of cosmetics, pharmaceuticals, and toiletries due to its moisturizing properties. Additionally, it is a popular ingredient in e-liquids used in electronic cigarettes.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
