So, what is griotte?
Griotte is a small, tart cherry variety that originated in France. With a deep red color and a juicy flesh, griotte cherries are commonly used in baking and confectionery. They have a distinct sour taste, which makes them a great addition to sweet desserts, as well as savory dishes like game meats and stews. Griottes are typically sold in preserved form, either canned or soaked in brandy, which intensifies their flavor and adds a hint of warmth. Rich in antioxidants and vitamin C, griotte cherries are not only delicious but also beneficial for your health.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
