So, what is huile-de-palme?

Huile-de-palme, also known as palm oil, is a versatile vegetable oil derived from the fruit of oil palms. With its distinct red-orange color and nutty flavor, it's a popular ingredient in a wide range of food products, from baked goods and snacks to margarine and cooking oil. Palm oil is also used in non-food products, including cosmetics and biodiesel. While it's high in saturated fat, it's also a rich source of antioxidants and vitamin E. However, the production of palm oil has raised concerns over deforestation and the destruction of wildlife habitats, making sustainable sourcing of palm oil an important issue for the industry.
