So, what is isocetyl alcohol?
Isocetyl alcohol is a type of fatty alcohol commonly used in cosmetic and personal care products as a thickener, emollient, and emulsifier. It is a clear, colorless liquid with a mild, sweet odor and is derived from natural sources such as coconut oil. Isocetyl alcohol helps to improve the texture of creams, lotions, and other formulations, leaving the skin feeling soft and smooth. It is also used in the manufacturing of perfumes, detergents, and lubricants. Despite its name, isocetyl alcohol is not an alcoholic beverage and should not be consumed.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
