So, what is jaune d´œuf?
Jaune d'œuf is the French term for egg yolk, the round and yellow part of an egg that is surrounded by egg whites. It is packed with essential nutrients like protein, vitamins A and D, and cholesterol. The deep yellow color of the yolk comes from carotenoids found in the hen's diet. Egg yolks can be used in various dishes, such as sauces, custards, and baked goods, to add richness and flavor. They are also a common ingredient in traditional French cuisine, where they are used to make classics like crème brûlée and hollandaise sauce.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
