So, what is kaliumacetat?
Kaliumacetat, also known as potassium acetate, is a white crystalline powder that is commonly used in the food industry as a preservative and acidity regulator. It is a salt of acetic acid and potassium, and has a slightly salty and sour taste. This ingredient is often used in processed meats, such as ham and sausages, to prevent bacteria growth and improve texture. It is also used in some snack foods, including potato chips, to enhance flavor and reduce oil absorption. Kaliumacetat is generally recognized as safe (GRAS) by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and is considered a low-risk food additive.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
