So, what is kaliumnitrat?
Kaliumnitrat, also known as potassium nitrate, is a crystalline white powder with a salty taste. It is a naturally occurring mineral and is commonly found in soil, water, and air. Kaliumnitrat is commonly used as a food preservative and as a component in fertilizer due to its high nitrogen content. In the food industry, it is used to preserve meats, poultry, and fish by inhibiting the growth of bacteria. It is also used in the production of cured meats such as bacon, ham, and sausages. Kaliumnitrat is also used in the manufacture of fireworks and explosives.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
