So, what is karotka?
Karotka is a classic Polish treat that translates to "carrot cake." It's a moist and tender cake made with grated carrots and warm spices like cinnamon, nutmeg, and ginger. The cake is usually served cold with a dusting of powdered sugar on top, but some variations come with cream cheese icing. Karotka often represents a comfort food for Poles, enjoyed with a cup of coffee or tea during lazy afternoons. In addition to its delicious taste, karotka is also a healthier dessert option due to the use of carrots, which are rich in vitamins, fiber, and antioxidants.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
