So, what is каррагинан?
Carrageenan, also known as "каррагинан" in Russian, is a natural food ingredient that is derived from red seaweed. It is a highly versatile ingredient that is commonly used as a thickener, stabilizer, and emulsifier in a wide variety of food products. Carrageenan has a unique molecular structure that allows it to form gels, making it an ideal ingredient for creating textures in foods such as desserts, dairy products, and meat products. Additionally, carrageenan is vegan-friendly and has no known health risks, making it a popular alternative to animal-derived thickeners.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
