So, what is karwijzaad?
Karwijzaad, also known as caraway seeds, is a highly aromatic spice commonly used in European and Mediterranean cuisines. The seeds are dark brown, crescent-shaped, and have a slightly bitter, earthy flavor with a hint of anise. Karwijzaad is a popular ingredient in savory dishes like rye bread, sauerkraut, and stews, and also in sweet baked goods like cakes and cookies. Aside from its culinary uses, karwijzaad is also believed to have several health benefits, including aiding digestion, improving heart health, and boosting the immune system.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
