So, what is keritin?
Keratin is a fibrous protein that is naturally found in the outermost layer of skin, hair, and nails in both humans and animals. It is a tough and resilient protein that provides structure, strength, and protection to these tissues. Keratin is also an important component of feathers, horns, hooves, and other hard structures in animals. In the food industry, keratin is often used as an additive in products such as dietary supplements and functional foods due to its potential health benefits, which include promoting hair and nail growth, improving skin elasticity, and supporting joint health.
We've built a vegan ingredients scanner that classifies food ingredients as "vegan", "non-vegan", or "potentially vegan".
It allows you to avoid non-vegan ingredients - just take a picture of a product's ingredient list, and the app tells you if the product is vegan or not.
